Where in the world do you live? And, are you from there?
I currently live in Illinois outside of Chicagoland. I was born in Wroclaw, Poland and moved at age 1 to Austria to flee Communism with my parents.
We lived in a hotel in a village in Austria for about another year before we finally were taken by the Catholic Church to Maryland, where we lived in the inner city for a couple of years before moving to the suburbs of Maryland.
What language(s) do you speak?
I currently speak Polish and English. I have had little opportunity to speak the German and French I knew as a child but am working on re-learning them again. (more…)

As you, dear reader, peruse this blog today, I am not only celebrating my 38th birthday but also nursing a terrible sunburn. Apparently, 50 SPF sunscreen requires more than one application on a very pale skinned person who spends hours in the sun.
Wait, let me explain.
A few months ago, I started a new job and while I wanted a spectacular summer vacation, I don’t have much vacation time yet. So, instead of something grand, I settled on a small trip for myself and my boys, part mini summer vacay and part pre birthday celebration.
My birthday falls right after the long Memorial Day weekend, so I figured the extra day off of work was a great excuse to get out-of-town. My initial plan, after much research, was to take my boys to a cabin at Devil’s Den State Park, which is in Northwest Arkansas and about three hours from our home. (more…)
Margie Webb is a forty-something, divorced mom of three biracial sons: Isaiah (25), Caleb (20), and Elijah (6/8/1997 - 7/2/1997) and two bonus sons: Malcolm (5/10/1992 - 10/9/2015) and Marcus (25). She lives in Lafayette,
Louisiana by way of Little Rock, Arkansas, and enjoys traveling, attending the theater, cooking calling the Hogs during Arkansas Razorback football season, spending time with family and friends, and is a crazy cat lady.
In addition to obtaining her Bachelors and Masters degree, she also has a Graduate Certificate in Online Writing Instruction and a National HR Certification through SHRM. She excels in her career as a Human Resources Management professional. Additionally, she has represented World Moms Network as a Digital Reporter at various conferences, including the United Nations Social Good Summit.

I love sports! Well, mostly basketball, college basketball. My husband and I like watching games on TV, and we also like to go to championship games, whenever possible around the U.S. However, that’s become more difficult to do now that we are parents of little ones.
The first game we took our daughter to was a first round National College Athletic Association (NCAA) tournament game when she was only 2 years old. We weren’t planning on attending because we already had plans, but it turned out that our plans fell through at the last-minute.
So, after a few clicks on Stub Hub, a secondary ticket vendor, we had tickets to the game, and we were updating our Facebook statuses to see who else was going to be there. (more…)

Where in the world do you live? And, are you from there?
I live in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, but I’m not from here, originally. I was born in Ontario, and I spent a lot of my childhood in the Caribbean on an island called Curacao. When we moved home to Canada, we moved East to Nova Scotia, which is where both my parents’ families hail from, originally. I spent my teenage years there, and I went to university in New Brunswick.
My husband and I moved out West for the jobs and the mountains back in 2007. I love the mountains, but I miss my family, my old friends, and Halifax Donairs. I am slowly putting down roots out here, though. (more…)
Carol from If By Yes has lived in four different Canadian provinces as well as the Caribbean. Now she lives in Vancouver, working a full time job at a vet clinic, training dogs on the side, and raising her son and daughter to be good citizens of the world.
Carol is known for wearing inside-out underwear, microwaving yoghurt, killing house plants, over-thinking the mundane, and pointing out grammatical errors in "Twilight". When not trying to wrestle her son down for a nap, Carol loves to read and write.
