Starting this week, we will be getting to know our writers, both old and new, on Tuesdays and Thursdays! We will be publishing writer interviews as extra posts, so we won’t miss out on the great blog postings!
On Monday we will be in India with The Alchemist. She describes one of those moments that can start out small and then snowball into something big and life-altering. Fortunately, in a really great way!
On Tuesday,we head to South Carolina to hear from Maggie Ellison, who is shaking her head and saying, “Oh no, not again!” She talks about the pain of moving with a family, although some of this post is guaranteed to make you laugh!
On Wednesday, we’re in Massachusetts with Courtney Cappallo , who’s oldest daughter just turned six! While we join her in celebrating six years of motherhood, she reflects on the month of sleepless nights and meticulous planning that went into putting together the birthday party to end all birthday parties.
And on Thursday, we head north of the border to Toronto, Canada, where Kirsten Doyle talks about she combines her three passions: parenting, autism advocacy and running.
On Friday Eva Fannon leads us in the Friday Question. Be sure to check it out and chime in with your answers!
In writer interviews this week, on Tuesday we will be profiling Karyn Van Der Zwet from New Zealand, and on Thursday we will get to know Margie Bryant from Arkansas.

It’s almost 10:30pm. The kids are asleep. My husband is out playing cards. And, I should be in bed because the baby will be up in the night to feed, I’m sooo running on empty in the sleep department, and I’ve been trying to get myself to a Saturday morning 8am yoga class for two months now. (I haven’t made it there yet!)
But, I’m up blogging.
If you’re reading this, perhaps, you can relate. What is it about us “mommy bloggers”? We just can’t get enough, can we?
I’ve had the idea for World Moms Blog’s “review/letter from the editor” column for our empty Saturday slot in my head for weeks now. (I need help with the name for it, please help!) It’s time to put it into type…

“My dad used to restore old gumball machines and he would let me sit at his work bench and help. He would give me little jobs and let me use his tools and paints to make my own ‘creations’.
I realize now that he helped encourage my creativity and provided an escape for me when things with my mother were rough.
My dad is still around, but lives 400 miles away- I still miss doing ‘projects’ with him.”

Where in the world do you live? And, are you from there?
I now live in a City known as the ‘Garden of India’ – the famous city of Bangalore (or “Bengaluru” the politically correct name today). I came here a little over 5 months ago on account of my job change.
However, I was born and brought up in the Kingdom of Kuwait, then did my graduation and post grad in India. And my place was the little southern state of Kerala, known as ‘God’s own Country’ in tourist brochures 🙂
What language(s) do you speak?
Well, I speak a little of this, and that. My mother tongue is Malayalam (which is also a palindrome by the way, the only language which is a palindrome). I also speak English, and have a working knowledge of Hindi and Tamil (enough to haggle with the auto-rickshaw drivers). I can also read and write the Arabic script. I am not that great at picking up language speech and do better with their scripts. (more…)

On Monday, we fly off to India to learn about Fire Crystals. This Kuwaiti-born Mom talks about the cultural difficulties with becoming a mom at the ripe old age of 27, and the fact that the name of her native language is a linguistic anomaly!
On Tuesday, we head to Seattle to get to know Eva Fannon, our sidebar editor who keeps us on track with our Friday Questions. A mom of two girls, Eva describes her transition from a busy New York life to a more laid-back existence in the beautiful Pacific north-west.
On Wednesday, we fly to Malaysia to hear from Alison Lee, former PR guru who is quite happy to have traded in the big bad corporate world for life with her son.
And on Thursday, we find ourselves in California, where super-proud mom of two girls tells us about her firstborn’s first ballet recital.
