We have an international week lined up for you – we will be traveling to a different country each day!
On Monday, we start in Illinois to learn all about our new writer, Polish Prairie Mom. Read about how this Polish-born Mom ended up in the United States and the special reasons she has for wanting to write about her heritage.
On Tuesday,we go south of the US border to Mexico, where Dee Harlow writes a thought-provoking post about early memories, how they can affect us, and how they can ultimately shape the way in which we raise our own children.
On Wednesday, we’re off across the ocean to New Zealand. Karyn Van Der Swet has some great insights into that great parenting debate: should we expose our kids to electronic entertainment or not, and to what extent does this depend on the child?
And on Thursday, we head off to Norway to hear from transplanted French Mom Ambre French. Ambre enjoys the best of both worlds, as she lives in Oslo and travels regularly to her native Paris, and she says she has no comment about recently joining the ranks of working moms.
On Friday Eva Fannon leads us in the Friday Question. Be sure to check it out and chime in with your answers!
This week we are please to add a new country to our roster as we welcome Mama B. from Saudi Arabia!

This week’s Friday Question comes from World Moms Blog writer DC Blog Mama. She asked our writers,
“In 15 words or less, what are the top 3 qualities you want to try to instill in your children?”
Check out what some of our World Moms had to say…
Kirsten Jessiman of Ontario, Canada writes:
“1. How to listen.
2. How to be compassionate.
3. How to share.” (more…)

Where in the world do you live? And, are you from there?
I live in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, but I’m not from here, originally. I was born in Ontario, and I spent a lot of my childhood in the Caribbean on an island called Curacao. When we moved home to Canada, we moved East to Nova Scotia, which is where both my parents’ families hail from, originally. I spent my teenage years there, and I went to university in New Brunswick.
My husband and I moved out West for the jobs and the mountains back in 2007. I love the mountains, but I miss my family, my old friends, and Halifax Donairs. I am slowly putting down roots out here, though. (more…)

Carol is known for wearing inside-out underwear, microwaving yoghurt, killing house plants, over-thinking the mundane, and pointing out grammatical errors in "Twilight". When not trying to wrestle her son down for a nap, Carol loves to read and write.

We start this week by learning all about a new writer! Join us in Vancouver, Canada on Monday, as Carol from “If By Yes” introduces herself to us. Although she is fairly fluent in Dog Language, she agreed to do this interview in English!
On Tuesday, we fly south of the border to New Jersey, where Veronica Samuels talks about her daughter’s initiation as a basketball fan!
On Wednesday, we’re off to the remote but beautiful island of East Timor, where Mom of twins Shaula Bellour plays in the sea and has to dodge anything from pigs to potholes on her way to the grocery store.
And on Thursday, we fly back to the United States to hear from Arkansas Mom Margie Bryant. Margie’s life has taken an intriguing series of twists and turns, but she is now in a happy place and has lots of tales to tell.
On Friday Eva Fannon leads us in the Friday Question. Be sure to check it out and chime in with your answers!
We have some new writers profiled in the
Writers section – take a moment to check them out!

This week’s Friday Question comes from World Moms Blog writer Eva Fannon of Washington State. She asked our writers,
“If someone gifted you tickets to travel anywhere in the world, where would you go, and who would you take with you?”
Here are some of the exciting places some of our World Moms would love to visit…
Asta Burrows of Norway writes:
“I would take my husband and wee lad to Western Australia. We have been there several times; I love the wine tasting and my husband loves the windsurfing. However after reading Tara’s article about flying with kids, I am not sure I could handle such a long journey – but it would probably be worth it!” (more…)
