INDONESIA: We Are All The Same
I've been lucky enough to look at motherhood from different cultural aspects. From the American side, the Indonesian side and to a glimpse of the Chinese side. When I was still in the States, I lived a life like most American stay-at-home moms do. I cooked; I cleaned;...

This week's Friday Question comes from World Moms Blog writer TwinMom112. She asked our writers, “How do you handle sex education in your home? If your child(ren) hasn’t/haven't reached that age yet, how is sex education handled in your culture?” Check out what some...
MINNESOTA, USA: Kindergarten Entrance Age
This year I sent two children off to school, but I'm keeping one at home. Even though Brody just turned three, I’m waiting another year before I enroll him in preschool and two more years after that before Kindergarten- which he will start having just turned six. Yes,...
INDIA: The Idea of Competition
Like Kirsten said in her travel itinerary last Sunday, I do have a tale to tell you, rather my son does.
It is the story of the boy and the apple tree. Perhaps, you could check out this link for the actual story, so that I save a few words here on my post. It’s a very popular story, not at all an uncommon one.
TEXAS, USA: Interview with Diana @Hormonal Imbalances
How did you find World Moms Blog?
I found World Mom’s Blog by sitting next to Jennifer during our Pathfinder Session at BlogHer’11. I loved the concept of her blog and idea. I have always wondered about other mothers around the world – how they parent, how they discipline, how they live, what their lives are like. I’m so excited to be a part of this group.
PENNSYLVANIA, USA: Addiction: With Love, Mom.
“My mother was an alcoholic. Ahhh yes, I said it. No shame … no embarrassment … at age “thirty-something,” it is just a fact.”
CALIFORNIA, USA: I’m Not Prepared for a Picky Eater — Help!

INDONESIA: Interview with Tatter Scoops
How would you say that you are different from other mothers?
I think I have more similar things with other moms, that we all want what is best for our children. Being a single mom in Indonesia where divorce still has strong negative connotations already makes me different and to blog about my struggles, my victories, my journey might make me different. Also, my values in raising my son have been strongly influenced by my own mixture of being Indonesian and Westernized at the same time.
MASSACHUSETTS, USA: Moving right along
She can do a lot of things on her own now. For starters, over the summer she learned to ride a two-wheel bike, skipping right over training wheels. She also learned to swim on her own. In August, we went on a fishing trip and she landed a fish all by herself. It was the biggest fish that week. Now that school is back in session, she realizes that she’s left behind her familiar preschools and entered the wider world of elementary school education. A world where teachers expect a lot more from their students.
CANADA: The People We Leave Behind
How do you gain your children's trust ...how do you keep that trust? Years ago, while working in a busy hostel, I met a young woman who was addicted to crack cocaine. Amira was 2 years old, and Iman was 4. I was a young mom, who knew little about everything, but...
PENNSYLVANIA, USA: Interview with Twinmom112
How would you say that you are different from other mothers?
After 5 ½ years of motherhood, I am proud to say that I am no different. Like many mothers, I strive for outstanding – will learn to be ordinary but refuse to accept failure.

CALIFORNIA, USA: Interview with Carri Brown
Are you a stay-at-home mom or do you work?
I recently quit my job and became a SAHM. Working outside of the home and being a SAHM are similar in that they both have their positives and negatives. I like the paycheck and away time I got with working but I didn’t like the sitter experiencing all of Blake’s “firsts”. Now that I’m home, I miss the money and the adult conversation but I do enjoy spending time with Blake.
